Cedars Lodge Studio
Complete, 2015
Over a period of years since 1996, the previous occupants had removed period details whilst screening the building from the road with fences and vegetation.
Our proposal for the Blackheath lodge house looks to re-instate many of the lost details whilst restoring the hierarchy of the primary elevation as a gatehouse and creating a number of new spaces through small iterative interventions. A cedar clad timber extension forms the main living space. A small infill to the side creates a third bedroom with an an artists studio. A new courtyard is formed in the centre of the plan with introduction of a study to the north.
