On Site, 2017
Built in the 1960’s St Lukes Estate compromises a ground and basement floor of retail units sat within a protruding plinth, with 8 storey’s of residential above. Vastly altered by numerous occupants over a number of years, the resultant street front is a collection of dark and unappealing spaces.
The proposal for includes enlarging and upgrading the retail spaces to suit modern day use and reinstating the integrity of the façade as originally designed. The bays are realigned to the building above, with the protruding concrete beams expressed and new contemporary glazing details
The retail aspect received planning permission in 2017 and is the first of multiple phases of the project. Phase One is currently on site, with additional phases awaiting planning permission
