As Chair of the RIBA/RSAW judging panel for 2025, Ian Chalk introduced the annual awards ceremony at the Cornerstone in Cardiff.

Ian Chalk presented 'Learning from Practice' to the undergraduate Part I students as an invited guest in the Welsh School of Architecture’s Expert Talk series. The talk describes the the practices tectonic working methods across two key projects, Chart Street Studios and Cambridge Arts Theatre.

ICA’s award winning Chart Street project was featured in RIBA London’s Long Life, Low Energy: Designing for a Circular Economy exhibition.

As an RIBA Award winner, Chart Street Studios featured in RIBA Journal described as ‘a masterpiece for its restrained and elegant reuse of a 1930s warehouse’.

As Bradford prepared to become 2025 UK City of Culture, C20 Society partnered with ICA to produce an ambitious new proposal for the abandoned Richard Dunn Sports Centre.

Ian Chalk was invited to present Chart Street Studios retrofit alongside Mikhail Riches and Featherstone Young, for an RIBA London talk chaired by Eleanor Young.

Chart Street Studios featured in The Architects’ Journal as an in-depth building study by Laura Mark spanning 16 pages.

Project architect Yusti Herrera wrote ‘Reflections on the picturesque’ for Architecture Today, explaining how historic methods of reading landscape informed ICA and RA Studio’s approach to Hillside House in Cornwall.

As a winner in the AJ Architecture Awards, Chart Street Studios was featured in a special November 2021 edition of The Architects’ Journal.

The award-winning transformation of Camden Town Hall annexe into The Standard Hotel was featured in the 20^th Century Society magazine.

'Reimagining Manchesters historic core'
As part of a campaign highlighting the threat to Manchesters civic centre, ICA prepared a conservation led alternative masterplan.

Ian Chalk reviewed The Boulevard - an innovative theatre proposal in which the stalls and circle can be adjusted to provide flexible performance and seating arrangements – in Soda Studio’s redevelopment of Walker’s Court for Soho Estates.

'To the rescue of Richmond House'
As part of a campaign highlighting the threat to Richmond House, a Grade II Listed in London centre, ICA prepared an alternative scheme to accommodate the chambers of the Commons and the Lords, within existing courtyards on the Whitehall estate.

The annual WIP exhibition provided a showcase for the Postgraduate Interior Design students to present their ongoing design thesis. The ID course focuses on a predeliction for the extant and a profound curiosity for what is already there and this year, the students located their thesis projects in ICA's WIP Tin Pan Alley buildings.
